Mathias Strömberg (b. 1972, Stockholm) works with both digital and traditional media to examine the administrative machinery, politics and cultural identity that shaped and broke the Swedish welfare state – its registers, its numbers, its quiet myths.

He moved to London to study art at Goldsmiths' College and earned a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Central Saint Martin's in 1996. He has since balanced work as an independent artist, essayist and creative gun-for-hire and is since 2018 director of communications at Skap (Swedish Composers and Lyricists) and a board member of Din Musikbusiness.
